How to play

The rules of the table

The aim

Everyone starts with $1,500. Buy deeds, collect rent and build. When every rival has gone bankrupt, the last player standing wins.

Your turn

Roll two dice and move clockwise. Passing GO pays $200. Doubles let you roll again, but a third double in a row sends you straight to jail. When you are done, end your turn.

Buying and auctions

Land on an unowned deed to buy it at the list price. Decline and it goes to auction: players bid in turn, a bid must beat the last one, and passing drops you out.

Rent and sets

Rent is owed whenever you land on another player's deed. Owning a full colour set doubles the base rent. Stations pay more the more you own, and utilities charge a multiple of the dice.

Building

With a complete set you can build houses on your turn, evenly across the set. The fifth building is a hotel. Houses can be sold back for half price.

Mortgages and debt

Mortgage an undeveloped deed for half its price. Mortgaged deeds earn no rent, and lifting one repays the loan plus interest. If you owe more cash than you hold, sell, mortgage or declare bankruptcy.

Jail

In jail you can pay a $50 fine before rolling, or try for doubles. After three failed tries you pay the fine and move.

Chance and Community Chest

These squares draw a card: payouts, fees, a trip to GO or a march back three squares. Tax squares pay the bank.

Dropped connection

Reload or reopen the page on the same device and you go straight back to your seat. If you are gone for more than 90 seconds, a bot plays your turns until you return, then hands control back.

Leaving the table

Exit is final. In a running game a bot takes over your seat for the rest of the game. In the lobby your seat is removed, and if you were hosting, the next player becomes host.
